Special Service – Living in Gratitude: Honoring a Time of Transition in Leadership

The Awakening Board invites you to this special service.  We are filled with gratitude for our community members and our leaders at Awakening! In an inspirational email sent on August 1st, Rev. Nita Shankari Kenyon shared about the unfolding of her path with Kriya Yoga and how she came to serve as Spiritual Director of our community in March of 2017. The community has thrived under Rev. Nita’s leadership and now it is time for her to transition out of this role and serve Life in new ways as she enters retirement.

Let us hold sacred space in heartfelt appreciation of Awakening’s leadership team. We wish to express our gratitude for Rev. Nita’s meritorious service as spiritual director and welcome Rev. Julie Darshini Hitchcock as she assumes this auspicious role.

Our morning together will include chanting, silent sitting, inspiration, reflection, and gratitude rituals in commemoration and support of their passages. We will then have time for tea and light refreshments outside.

We will be blessed by the company of Yogacharya O’Brian via Zoom, Rev. Nancy Amrita Ballinger (founder of Awakening), and Rev. Devin Atma Sodt (prior spiritual director) as we honor the grace of God and Gurus through the living expression of Awakening.
