“Bless me, that I may find Thee in the temple of each thought and activity. Finding
Thee within, I shall find Thee without, in all people and all conditions.”
— Paramahansa Yogananda
Do you feel the inner call to go within? Do you yearn for deep abiding peace?
As we approach the Winter Solstice, a time that honors the longest period of darkness and the
expansion of light and coincides with the holy days of various religious traditions, we may notice a
natural inclination to want to enter into silence and experience the warmth and beauty of the season.
Practitioners of yoga are encouraged to tend to their daily spiritual practice with greater care during this time – meditate longer and deeper, be immersed in prayer, and reflect upon sacred readings.
In 1931, Paramahansa Yogananda started the tradition of an all-day meditation during the Christmas season for devotees to be immersed in divine communion through meditation. Awakening Meditation Center follows this tradition, passed down from guru to disciple, by offering an evening of chanting by candlelight, silent sitting, and inspirational readings.
Please join us on Friday, Dec. 16 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM.
Our time together will include chanting by
candlelight, inspirational readings, and silent sitting. No experience is necessary. Pre-registration is not required. Offered on a donation basis.
